Global Design + Build Company Aids Essential Business During Crisis
Elkay Interior Systems (EIS) supports the front lines.
MILWAUKEE WI, April 27, 2020: To support customers and communities during COVID-19, Elkay Interior Systems (EIS), global interior design and manufacturing company, donates products for local health care systems and essential businesses in need.
“Elkay Interior Systems was happy to jump in and utilize our skill sets to help provide hand-sewn masks to the frontline workers in our Milwaukee and Fond Du Lac communities. I’m incredibly proud of our team in Fond Du Lac and the generosity of the outside organizations that helped us make this all possible,” notes General Manager, Mia Nicolaisen.
Since mid-April, EIS has donated over 1,600 masks to Agnesian Healthcare in Fond du Lac, WI, Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, Christian Care Communities Nursing and Rehab Center in TX, and Trio Community Meals in TX. EIS continues to produce approximately 500 masks per week.
In addition to mask production, EIS recently launched Soapwell™, a mobile hands-free wash station offering completely touchless handwashing. To date, 20 units have been donated to the frontline workers in Massachusetts and Connecticut to help keep them and their communities healthy as they provide critical service during the pandemic.
EIS's parent company, Elkay Manufacturing, has also been supporting essential workers with a donation of stainless-steel compartment sinks. 21 sinks were donated in early April to the Javits Center in New York City, which was transformed into a field hospital containing 250 beds for recovering COVID-19 patients.
