BARCELONA, SPAIN, APRIL 2024 – Amidst the excitement of the 2024 McDonald’s Worldwide Convention, Elkay Interior Systems (EIS) stirred up more than just business buzz. Their booth at the event not only showcased their furniture and décor but also housed something special: a PlayPlace display destined for a noble cause. 

After the convention wrapped in Barcelona, Spain, EIS graciously donated the PlayPlace to a deserving organization. Since its inception in 2002, The Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) Barcelona has offered free housing to families of children receiving reference hospital care and has been a beacon of hope for over 1,200 families. The house received an exciting new addition thanks to EIS - a PlayPlace for kids to laugh, play, and forget their worries. 

Overcoming the logistical challenges, EIS assembled the PlayPlace onsite to spark joy in the hearts of the children at RMHC Barcelona. EIS President + CEO Tony Lutz, Director of Global Accounts Stephan Schwaabe, and Senior Sales Manager Miguel Mora stood alongside Ronald McDonald House Barcelona Manager Mari Carmen Toledo Periáñez to unveil the gift—a symbol of compassion and community on the bustling convention floor.

As Lutz aptly put it, “The Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charities have been an important part of Elkay Interior Systems’ outreach program for years. In many ways, and all over the world, EIS has partnered with RMCC to help provide the best possible experience for children and families in need. Our partnership is a great source of pride for our organization and is a key part of our 42-year supplier relationship with the McDonald’s brand.”
